Retail Leadership Summit

India is a nation of shopkeepers with innovative competencies to delight customers. The evolutionary process has been quite exciting for modern retailers, who have had to re-examine the traditional methods of retailing, constantly upgrade processes and practices and develop them in order to increase their market share. With this, there have been crucial lessons to learn. As retail organisations respond to such experiences, they also cull out and share best practices that are worth replicating.

With the focus on "Creating vision for modern retail", Retailers Association of India (rai), organised its first Retail Leadership Summit (RLS) 2007 on 21 September 2007 at Tata Theatre, Mumbai which served as a platform for sharing learning and information from globally successful companies and those successful retailing organisations in India. The event also explored the readiness of India to march forward in exploring opportunities that lie ahead for organised retailing to exploit. RLS 2007 saw the participation of leading retailers from many countries across the globe while the Indian retailers showcased to the world the growth of organised retail industry thus far and the opportunities that the industry foresees.
