“Radha” as he is popularly known, has been a corporate citizen for 31 years, with an impressive track record, in a variety of industries. Radha was ranked among the top in his graduation and Post Graduation in Economics, Econometrics and Statistics.
He is also an Entrepreneur and runs his consulting company Aligned Business Partners (www.alignedbp.com). They work in the area of supply Chain Solutions, and Food Retailing, and work extensively with Private Equity firms as thought leaders in Food, retail, FMCG and Supply chain.
He started his career as a tea taster Carritt Moran and Company in Kochi, and Kolkatta.
He moved on to head the tea division of Parry Agro Limited, controlled tea distribution from the tea estates and launched a brand of tea nationally. He worked here from 1984 to 1987.
Radha then worked as the Vice president of the Unilever promoted Indo Nissin Foods, noodles company that launched two national brands Top Ramen and Cup Noodle. From building the collaboration with the Japanese Nissin Foods, to setting up the factory in Jigany Bangalore, Radha almost was primarily responsible for bringing launching oriental Noodles in India. He headed at various times project management, commercial, marketing and product development.
In 1994, Radha’s entrepreneurial spirit took him to Amalgam Foods, where Higashimaru Feeds an aquaculture venture which had feed plants, hatcheries and Shrimp farms. He acquired a variety of business skills in running the geographically spread business into a profitable venture during the difficult times of the industry.
During his tenure in Higashimaru feeds, he also launched the national frozen food brand Sumeru, which even today continues to be the largest and leading brand in its segment.
In 1997 Radha joined Foodworld Supermarkets Limited and Vice president Operations. He was part of the original start-up team that launched the retail revolution in India. He set up operations SOPs and processes. In 2000 he became the VP Merchandising, Marketing, and Supply Chain. He is well-known in the industry of retail for his practical implementation of Category management, suitable to India. He also set up a India’s first retail consolidation centre for Fruits and Vegetables. He lectured in various top universities and industry forums during these years. He has trained over a 100 merchandisers during this time. He continued in Foodworld (later renamed Spencer’s) till May 2006.

In 2006, he joined Reliance Retail as CEO of the Hypermarket Business. He started off by launching the Reliance Fresh format, in Nov 2006 at Hyderabad. Radha was involved in every aspect of the business from SAP configuration, retalix set ups, Distribution and logistics, operations SOPs, and training. He then moved over to launch the first Hypermarket for reliance in Ahmedabad, the Iscon Mall. He had set up over 1 million sft space under hypermarkets alone in just over a year. He was the CEO of the Reliance Value format consisting of Super, Fresh and Hypermart.
