The changing face of retail and consumer behaviour has necessitated the rebooting of all traditional practises in store presentation (Display, VM & Planogramming). The objective of the program is to orient store presentation planners and practitioners towards application of the art & science of store presentation in the context of new age customer and retail business needs. The methodology aims at refreshing principles, learning from practical case studies of global best practises and application of the concepts in simple interactive group exercises. The key purpose is to refresh, learn concepts and take away practical knowledge that can be applied to optimize sales in the context of the participants' retail business.

SURENDER GNANAOLIVU, Consultant Retail Experience Over 21 years of experience in the retail industry as a consultant and also in senior management roles handling Retail Experience Design, Store Design, Space & Productivity Planning, Retail Marketing , CRM, Brand Identity, Visual Merchandising , Retail Audits, Training, Teaching and Writing. With a masters in Industrial Engineering and PGDM in Marketing he started his career in 1988 in the Short Service Commission of the IAF in the rank of Flight Lieutenant in a missile squadron handling simulated testing and deployment management of surface-to-air missiles for 6 years. In 1994 his passion for design led him into Advertising ending up as Head of Creative Studio for a Retail integrated in-store marketing consulting company called RAMMS for 3 years where he worked on BTL solutions for various MNCs and Indian FMCG, Consumer Durable and Fashion brands. His journey in retail started at Shoppers Stop from 1997 as AVP Store Planning and Visual Merchandising. Post that he spent 3 years as a retail planning consultant working with various established brands and retailers and also taught at management and design institutes like NIFT, Welingkars, SP Jain, MICA and also the Retailers' Association of India. In this period he co-founded India's only retail design and visual merchandising magazine called VM&RD and is currently the Chief Editor for the same.In 2006 he joined Reliance Retail Lifestyle vertical as VP Store Development and was a part of the core team that brought in JV brands like Vision Express, Office Depot and set up of formats like Reliance Jewels and Reliance Timeout in a period of 2 years.Post that he held the position of EVP Marketing and Brand Experience at Mahindra Retail and was part of the core team that set up the retail network . He was responsible for Marketing, CRM, Store Development, Visual Merchandising and Training for the group from 2008 to 2015 Jan. He is currently a senior consultant in Retail Experience planning and is consulting in the space of Store Experience Design, Content development and management for a leading retail publication house and also teaches, writes and blogs on retail experience design.
