Retailers can now keep Shops & Establishment open all 365 days in Telangana
RAI delegation had met the Hon’ble Minister of Telangana, Shri K Chandrashekhar Rao requesting the government to keep open all Shops & Establishments on all 365 days of the year in the state of Telangana. Further to representing the issue, RAI delegation had a series of meetings with the Industries Secretary in regard to issuance of the notification.
We are pleased to inform that the Government of Telangana has issued a notification exempting retail establishments in the state from weekly closure as mandated by the Shops and Establishments Act. Please click here to view the notification.
This means that retail establishments in the state can now keep their stores open 365 days a year, provided they comply with the statutory requirements laid down by the government, which include giving employees a weekly off and restricting work hours to 9 hours a day and no more than 48 hours a week.
