As you know our country has been in a complete lockdown since 25th March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to this, an economic slowdown has hit our Indian Retail Sector especially those in the non-essential services of retail. As business leaders, we understand that you will have to make difficult decisions and those decisions may impact people in your organization, too.

Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN), a public charitable trust working towards empowering people in retail has always strived to help you and your team members improve their lives both at work and at home. Retailer’s Association of India (RAI) is working with TRRAIN to bring to light retail employees in financial distress post job losses or furlough.

TRRAIN will provide bridge support to 3000 women retail employees in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi who are in financial distress due to loss of employment or Furlough as an outcome of the COVID-19 crisis.

Through the Relief Grant, we will be offering to the beneficiaries:

• Rs.4000 per associate over a period of 3 months (starting May 2020)
• Enrolment to Governments of India Relief schemes for grants starting from Rs.1000/-

The associates will also be on-boarded onto the TRRAIN Circle mobile app to have access to over the phone counselling services, additional financial services, and E-learning courses to develop skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Women (Indian Citizen) working in a Retail organization (includes malls, food courts, QSR, salon chains, third-party service providers to retail), who have lost their job or have been put on furlough by their organization
• She may be the only Bread Winner of the Family and her gross annual income doesn’t exceed Rs 2,00,000
• In other cases, the Gross Total Annual Income of the family does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000
• She should be working in either Mumbai, Bengaluru or Delhi
• She should be above 18 years of age
• Only applications with complete and correct documents will be considered
• Applications approved by the steering committee will be considered as final and binding
